The Salts will play revved-up sea-related folk songs and shanties to celebrate Filey’s long seafaring and fishing heritage, at the Evron Centre on 1 December.
The folk-rock fivepiece might fit a Bellowhead-shaped hole, doing for shanties what the Pogues did for folk.
A co-operative of seasoned musicians, the band mix well-written original compositions with traditional tunes.
Their best-known member, on banjo and guitar, is Lee Collinson, twice finalist in the BBC folk musician of the year awards.
The gig will draw Filey’s mini-Christmas festival to a close.
Tickets cost £10 from Filey Travel and the Red Box.
