Prison Game

Prison Game at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough

A groundbreaking and challenging performance examining how prison can define a man comes to the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, next month.

Written and performed by Marcus Hercules, Prison Game is a gripping and sometimes chilling one-man physical theatre performance which asks ‘if prison is your world, how do you function within society?’

Developed using real life accounts of extraordinary experiences, this mainly biographical story deals with the effects of institutionalisation on the psyche of an individual and the people around them.

Told through a series of characters brought to life by the physical dynamism of Marcus Hercules, audiences are taken on a young boy’s journey from primary school to adulthood.

As well as Prison Game, Marcus Hercules has written and performed one-man shows Different Perspectives and Rasta Liv. He has also appeared on TV in Holby City, Shameless, Coronation Street, New Street Law, Brookside, Doctors, Mobile, Casualty andNorthern Lights.

Prison Game can be seen in the McCarthy at the SJT on Friday 22 November at 7.45pm. Tickets, priced from £10, are available from the box office on 01723 370541 and online at www.sjt.uk.com.
