Festival of Christmas Trees

The Rotary Club of Bridlington is holding its 7th annual “Festival of Christmas Trees” over the first two weekends in December. The dates are Friday 6th Dec - Sunday 8th and Friday 13th Dec – Sunday 15th December.

The venue is St John’s Burlington Methodist Church, St John’s Street, Bridlington.

The event is in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research and local Rotary charities.

It is anticipated there will be around 60 decorated and illuminated Christmas trees contributed by local schools/ charities/uniformed organisations/churches and businesses. The imagination and creativity behind them is amazing.

The church and adjoining rooms are open for viewing on both Fridays and Saturdays between 10am and 4pm and on both Sundays between 12 noon and 4pm.

On the two Fridays there will be special singing by local school choirs (8 of them to date) and on the two Saturdays singing by local music groups/choirs (7 of them to date).

Admission to the Festival is free but there are buckets in aid of the charities around the building for donations.

On Friday 6th December we have a Gala Concert with Weighton Waytes Choir and Hilderthorpe Primary School Choir. Tickets are £5 (children free) and may be obtained from any member of Bridlington Rotary Club or direct from John Fisher 01261-851785 Email: johnaf123@btinternet.com.

Throughout the Festival the church runs a café offering drinks and excellent light meals at competitive prices.

The 7th Annual “Festival of Christmas Trees” concludes on Sunday 15th December at 4-30pm with a Celebration. There will be special singing from the “Churches Together Choir” and “Sewerby Methodist Choir” plus congregational carols.
